Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

For meats, desserts and more, this simple cranberry sauce is a holiday table must have.

12 oz fresh cranberries

1 cup sugar

1 strip of orange or lemon zest

2 tbs water

Instructions:

  1. Combine 12 oz fresh cranberries, 1 cup of sugar, 1 strip of orange or lemon zest and 2 tablespoons of water in a pan.
  2. Cook over low heat and stir until the sugar dissolves and the berries are soft, approx. 10 minutes.
For dessert toppings, try adding 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon!

For a "saucier" sauce, add a shot of rum after cooking.  Mix well and cook for an additional minute or two until sauce is the desired consistency.
